My experience was overwhelmingly positive. Upon initiating therapy, I was very anxious that I would not regain my strength and flexibility in a timely manner. The friendly and upbeat staff made me feel comfortable and at ease. My therapist, Todd Warner, and PTA, Promise Sigman, clearly understood my injury and prescribed the appropriate therapy and progressions for strength and flexibility. Re-evaluations were frequently performed to insure my ankle was improving.

On October 31st, 2015, my life changed in a matter of seconds. While mowing my lawn the creek bank suddenly gave way. My right leg from the knee down was turned one-hundred and eighty degrees and the tractor had landed on my leg pinning it under the engine. After a thorough evaluation, the doctor informed me I had dislocated my knee, crushed my tibia and broke my fibula, not to mention the damage inflicted to my ligaments and tendons. My primary care physician (Dr. Anita Yeager) insisted I see Dr. Molina for a consultation and surgery was recommended. He strongly advocated physical therapy to maximize recovery. Dr. Yeager instantly concurred and recommended I begin treatment at Teays Physical Therapy Center (TPTC) with Cindy Skiles.
At TPTC I was treated with compassion and professionalism. Cindy and her staff immediately began working with me to develop a plan of action for recovery. Their encouragement and expertise went far beyond my expectations and I left every appointment with a new goal and a new sense of encouragement. TPTC became family to me.

All the staff were warm, helpful, and contributed to my healing. I felt like leaving family at my final session. I am profoundly grateful and will recommend TPTC without reservation.
I had increasing left knee pain for approximately two years. I tried conservative treatment, including injections, and it got to the point I needed to have a knee replacement. On October 12, 2015, Dr. Paul Legg replaced my left knee at St. Francis Hospital. When it was time to have outpatient physical therapy, Dr. Legg asked me where I wanted to go. Since I had been a patient at Teays Physical Therapy Center in the past and had a great experience, I wanted to return there.
All the staff members at TPTC are fine people. I can now walk without limitations and I’m able to go up and down stairs in a normal fashion. If a friend or family member needed therapy in the future I would personally walk them to TPTC and introduce them to the therapy staff. I am very happy with the outcome of my surgery and therapy.

They do all they can to get you back to a normal life.

After surgery I was unable to lift or bend my leg. The therapists at TPTC got me back on my feet and hopefully I will be back on the track soon. My experience there has been amazing. My friends and family all know how awesome my experience has been. I tell family, friends, teammates, and co-workers who ask (and even ones who don’t) TPTC is the place to go for their therapy needs.
I was involved in an automobile accident on September 3rd, 2014 which resulted in severe back pain. After being unable to do much for four months I was referred to physical therapy and I choose TPTC. I came to therapy hardly walking. Cindy and her staff took me by the hand and did not let go. They worked hours with me and I saw progress immediately. The therapists pushed me to meet my goals, however, did not require me to do more than I felt I could do.
Regarding my experience I would say to my friends or family members, “This is the only place to be.” They take you in and make you feel like family. They love their job and they love to see you walk out with your head held high and reaching your goals. I have never felt better in my life.
One year ago my family doctor, Elizabeth Brown, referred me to Teays Physical Therapy Center in St. Albans to strengthen my left leg. Since my previous experience with TPTC was wonderful I returned there following my knee replacement.
During therapy I was given the appropriate amount of encouragement and was taught every step of the way so my recovery was quick. The therapy I received was professional and extremely caring. All of the staff were friendly. TPTC is a wonderful place to get your life back together as soon as possible following surgery. I definitely encourage others to use TPTC for their rehabilitation.
I injured my shoulder in a fall following ankle surgery. An MRI revealed a torn labrum, rotator cuff tear, and necrosis of the humeral head. These injuries required a total shoulder replacement. I had therapy at TPTC after my ankle surgery and I knew I wanted to return there for my shoulder rehabilitation. I started in therapy one week post-op. With hard work and encouragement from my therapist, Rebecca O’Dell, my range of motion consistently improved. After three months I was referred to TPTC for work conditioning with Doug James and Herm Hundley to improve my strength and endurance.

During the summer, I received a total hip arthroplasty by Dr. Ali Oliashirazi at Cabell Huntington Joint Replacement Center. Shortly after the surgery, I began my post-operative rehabilitation at TPTC with Cindy. Being an avid outdoorsmen, my goal was to complete the rehab process and be able to participate in the WV fall hunting season. During the seventh week of rehab, I was hiking in Pocahontas County, WV and was able to navigate the lower hills without any difficulty.
The rehab exercise plan that Cindy recommended for me is working great and my goal was met. I’m a firm believer that the benefit you gain from exercise/rehab is in direct proportion to the effort that you put forward. All of the therapists at TPTC are always willing to give encouragement and instruction on how to perform the exercises correctly. Many of my friends and neighbors spoke very highly of the professionalism of the entire staff at TPTC and I totally agree with their observations. This organization runs like a “well-oiled machine.”
Pain started in my left shoulder approximately two years ago. I found out I had a rotator cuff tear and had surgery on March 5, 2014 by Dr. David Soulsby. Previously, I had a hip replacement and had therapy at TPTC. Following my shoulder surgery, I wanted to return there for my rehab.

Rebecca O'Dell and other staff members at TPTC worked with my schedule to meet that goal. With guidance in exercises for what to do, how much and when, my shoulder was healed and strong enough for my trip. It was a great experience.
The professionals at TPTC are just that: professional. The facility is nice, clean, and well outfitted and the staff is wonderful.
Two years ago I had a left total knee arthroplasty with “Dr. Neginhal’s implant”. I completed my post-operative rehab at Teays Physical Therapy Center with Christin. Recently my right knee needed replacement. Dr. Neginhal used a customized knee implant by Conformis. Mentally, I was better prepared for the second surgery. Once again Christin assisted me with my rehabilitation. We set certain goals and I worked hard to complete everything she asked me to do. I returned to work at Randolph Engineering one week after my surgery. I had an incident with stairs that increased my knee pain. I immediately called Christin and she calmed me down and instructed me in what to do to resolve the issue.
At TPTC you become part of the family. They work with you to make your therapy a great experience. All the employees have your best interest in mind. After 3 years, I am looking forward to riding my Harley again soon.

I would refer anyone to TPTC. I have had a terrific experience there.
I was falling a lot and had little muscle strength, especially in my thighs. I was referred by Dr. Akins, my family doctor. Rebecca was my therapist and is the one who realized that my problem needed further evaluation. I was later diagnosed at Johns Hopkins Myositis Research Center as having a rare condition of Inclusion-Body Myositis.
The doctor at Johns Hopkins recommended physical therapy and I returned to TPTC because Rebecca exhibited a real concern for my progress.
At TPTC the patients are recognized by their first name and always greeted with a smile. The therapists assist one another as needed and TPTC just seems to be a happy place.

I had knee pain for approximately three years. When cortisone injections stopped helping my symptoms, I decided to have a partial knee replacement. I had the surgery on March 14, 2014.
Following surgery, I went to another physical therapy facility for one day. I realized I had made a mistake and I called TPTC. I was seen within two days. Colby was my therapist. Overall my experience at TPTC was excellent. Everyone from the front desk to the therapists and assistants were friendly, kind, and knowledgeable.
I am at least 80% better. I am completing all my activities of daily living and I am glad to be walking again in the community, at the store, and the mall. If I am faced with another surgery I would definitely return to TPTC.
My wife and I have received therapy at TPTC multiple times for a number of problems. When I retired in June 2013, I wanted to keep physically fit and did not want to become just a “couch potato”. I decided to join TPTC’s Get Fit fitness program.
Denise, athletic trainer in charge of the program, was very helpful getting me started. She continues to check on my progress. Everyone is always ready to help me if needed.
On most days I walk to and from therapy. I have lost 40 pounds. I am now off my hypertension medication for the first time in 15 years. We have recommended TPTC to numerous family and friends. Thanks to everyone for a win-win!
I have had several surgeries in the past which required physical therapy. I chose to go to TPTC. TPTC is just minutes from my house in St. Albans. Several friends had recommended St. Albans TPTC. Doug James was my physical therapist and designed my individualized treatment program. Doug was thorough, insightful, and experienced as a team leader. With the help of Doug, Erin, Tamisha, and Mary, my treatment program was successful. In a matter of 9 weeks, my pain was gone. I was thrilled with my newfound strength and endurance.
Dr. Oliashirazi was most pleased with my progress. I would highly recommend TPTC to anyone in need physical therapy. I joined the TPTC fitness program. Never again will I allow chronic pain to negatively impact every aspect of my daily life.
I am an RN at Cabell Huntington Hospital in the burn unit. On October 20, 2013 I slipped down a wheelchair ramp at home and sustained on open fracture of my ankle. I was taken to the emergency room where Dr. Garabekyan was on call. My fracture required an open reduction internal fixation on October 28th. I was placed in a splint and non weight bearing for at least two weeks. I was graduated to an air cast and was referred to physical therapy in the middle of November. I chose Teays Physical Therapy Center because it was close to my home. Christin was my therapist. The staff was well educated, compassionate, and dedicated to returning patients to their normal lifestyle. Not only were they able to anticipate and meet my needs, I was able to return to work four weeks ahead of schedule on February 24th. The TPTC staff was kind and everyone knew your name. You were always greeted with a smile. The entire staff was eager to see you succeed.
I am an equipment operator for US Well Services. On July 3, 2013 I fell at work and ruptured my right quadriceps tendon. On August 16th I had surgery. Dr. Tao repaired my tendon. I was in a brace until October 29th. I was referred to physical therapy to start rehab. I chose Teays Physical Therapy Center because their reputation in the community is “the place to go for rehab”. During my rehab, Christin helped me set a strong game plan which she adjusted along the way based on my progress. This shaved months off of my 12 month recovery outlook. I have been released from my physician and returned to work on March 5th doing my regular job.
I would highly recommend TPTC based on my personal experience as well as the skill of the staff. Everyone treated me as family and took a great interest in my concerns. I hope to return as a CrossFit member when I am in town.
On October 4, 2013 I was performing with Disney Live in the Philippine Islands. When I jumped and landed on my left foot, my knee popped and I tore my meniscus. I was unable to work the following day. I was transferred back to the United States where Dr. Clark Adkins performed surgery on November 8th.
Following surgery I became a patient of Teays Physical Therapy Center based on the recommendations of friends and family. My experience at TPTC has been amazing. My doctor said that physical therapy would be the key to getting me back into working condition. I have now been approved to return to work. It would not have been possible without the dedication of the therapist to see improvement. I will be leaving on December 22nd for my next assignment in Australia. Maintaining a positive attitude truly helped me during my rehab at TPTC.
I am an avid cyclist. On September 25, 2012 I had a significant bicycle wreck in which I severely separated my right shoulder. I went to the emergency room but needed to see an orthopedic surgeon for a consultation. I saw Dr. Stanly Tao, at Scott Orthopedic Center, who reconstructed my AC joint on October 19, 2012. I was soon referred to Teays Physical Therapy Center by recommendation of Dr. Tao. I know Cindy from church and worked with her throughout my rehabilitation. On my first day of therapy my shoulder range of motion was poor but through systematic exercises I was able to increase my range of motion to 95% of normal.
My physical therapy experience was very rewarding. The staff helped me understand the reason why they were having me do each exercise. The entire staff was kind and knowledgeable. Even though I was not always the best patient; they had patience working with me.
I am looking forward to being back on my road bike in the near future. Thanks TPTC.
I had right shoulder pain for 4 to 5 months with tingling in my index finger and thumb. My family doctor ordered an MRI which showed that I had bone spurs in my neck. He referred me for an evaluation with Dr. Matt Walker. After the evaluation, Dr. Walker then sent me to physical therapy for treatment. Since I had been a patient at Teays Physical Therapy Center before I chose to have my treatment there.
My therapist, Rebecca O’Dell, has helped me tremendously with my neck and arm through her guidance in exercise and using traction. I have had a great experience here. From the time I entered the door the receptionists were smiling and greeting you by name.
TPTC has the most wonderful staff that I have ever encountered. I would highly recommend anyone needing therapy to TPTC for a wonderful, professional, healing experience.
I chose Teays Physical Therapy Center because I was not completely satisfied with the care I had received at another physical therapy facility. I had low back pain and was losing mobility. I heard good things about Teays Physical Therapy Center and asked my doctor to refer me there for therapy.
There aren't enough words to describe the excellent care I received at Teays Physical Therapy Center. Cindy and her staff are very professional and care about you and your road to recovery. I was in pain with limited mobility on my initial visit to TPTC and after my therapy treatments; I am no longer in constant pain and have regained my mobility. I am now enrolled in their fitness program and look forward to going every day.
I would recommend Teays Physical Therapy Center to all my friends and family. The staff is very friendly and is willing to assist with your every need. They are family oriented and make you feel like you are part of their family. They just can't be beat.
In July 2011, a sudden fall and a trip to the emergency room revealed a giant cell tumor that had been growing in my femur and caused a fracture. The tumor was removed by Dr. Felix Cheung at Cabell Huntington Hospital. In its place a large bone graft and metal plate was secured to my femur with seven screws. A few months later I required a second procedure to increase flexibility and decrease scar tissue. Prior to coming to Teays Physical Therapy Center I received home therapy. I choose TPTC after it was highly recommend by my home health agency.
My experience at TPTC has been very rewarding. I knew I had a long road of recovery ahead. My therapist, Christin Knell, never made that road seem unreachable. With her positive attitude and her consistent motivation, she gave me the tools necessary to improve every day. Christin and the staff were always there with an encouraging word to achieve the next milestone in therapy. They created a warm and inviting atmosphere, always giving guidance with a smile. I am grateful for the gift of health TPTC has given back to me, including my ability to walk again.
I plan to share my experience with my friends and family because I would trust their health in the hands of the staff at this facility. Not only did I walk away a stronger person physically and mentally but I have made unforgettable memories and new friends.
Choosing TPTC was one of the easiest decisions I’ve ever made. Their professional reputation and visibility throughout the community indicates they are a business that not only cares about their patients, but also strives to be a leader in helping everyone lead a healthy lifestyle.
My experience as a patient could not have been better. Thanks to Cindy’s careful diagnosis and comprehensive treatment I felt immediate relief and results. And as important as that was, her ability to educate me on exactly how the injury occurred and how it could be prevented from happening again has been even more meaningful. The facility and staff were so welcoming that I made TPTC part of my daily routine by becoming a fitness client. I am stronger and more flexible than I have ever been, and I feel GREAT!
I would not just refer my friends and family to TPTC, I would insist that they go there whenever they need any type of therapy.
I have osteoporosis. This resulted in me having a fractured leg in 2006 and back surgery in 2010 with ongoing leg problems. I chose TPTC as my physical therapy provider because of word of mouth recommendations by people that I knew had achieved good success with their treatment.
My experience at TPTC has been positive in pleasant surroundings by professional, friendly and caring staff. The therapists at TPTC made helping me regain as much of my former lifestyle as possible their top priority.
They are a caring and compassionate group with a positive attitude. They treat each of their patients with kindness, integrity and respect regardless of their background or condition.
