Hernandez Earns Gamer of the Week Honors

Teays Physical Therapy Center, Inc. and The Putnam Herald are pleased to present this week’s male Gamer of the Week to Aiden Hernandez of Winfield Track and Field.

Aiden Hernandez has been a stand out performer for the Winfield Generals Track and Field team this season. The Junior cleared 6’6” in the high jump twice this season which has him tied for the top jump in AAA. Hernandez has been gaining momentum winning the Tudor’s Biscuit World Charleston Relays last weekend with his second clearance at 6’6”.

“His ability to consistently improve week to week is impressive. He has lot of talent and good people around him to keep him focused and driven. He is a big help to our team and we are excited to see what will happen the rest of this year and next,” said Head Coach Ian Ingraham.

Hernandez has also contributed on the track in the 4x100m, 4x200m, and 4x400m relays this season helping his team to multiple Top-5 meet performances in those events.  In addition to Track and Field, Hernandez is also a member of the Football team at Winfield.

Hernandez earned all-state honors in 2023 with a 6th place finish in the High Jump, and will be looking to improve on that performance in a few weeks. Hernandez and the rest of the Generals will start their quest for the state meet Thursday May 15th at the Region 4 Championships hosted by Parkersburg.
